Oh boy! My bad. Please bear with me. Posted my reply twice somehow. Trying to get it right. Hope some of you at least got a chuckle out of my blunder. :)

Re: I quit

Ya know.

I never did understand all of this praise for a QUITTER!

I mean really, if you can't stick with something, what's wrong with you????

(j/k - congrats and I'm glad I never really got into this habit. I know quitting is tough)

Re: I quit

i too have quit (sort of) i used to smoke 3-4 packs of cigarillos a week. now i only have one or two (individuals) a month when im out drinking with friends. now i cant even finish one it starts to hurt my throat and i end up putting it out. but i still enjoy the social aspect of it. Lots of my friends smoke and it dosent bother me at all, it used to make me crave one but now not at all. its been around 8 months for me and i feel way healthier and have a lot more energy.

my savings have been put towards a new motor i am in the process of building.

congradulations on quitting and keep up the good work. ;)

Re: I quit

Congrats on the quit.

4 years for me and still thinking about it every day. Was thinking about every second for the first 3 years.

For me it's a life long battle to stay away from the evil tobacco that I loved.

One of the reasons I posted a million times in the past two days is there was a death in the family and Every time I think of smoking, I posted here. My apologies for that, mates.

For those who have not quit, it is never too late to try again. I must have tried 20 serious times before I went this long.

Best of luck and congrats,

Re: I quit

i quit fathers day:D:D:D 8 days without smoking today.. i got a good deal on 10 boxes of 100cnt. nicorette" on ebay, i chew 6 to 8 pieces a day its a crutch i know but anything is better than smoking imo ... i am still kind of worried i struggle in the morning with coughing and hacking a bit but it has cleared up
4 fold for sure ,took my boat out saturday and went for a long swim that felt good...with one week of not smoking 2 packs a day thats 8 bucks a pack here in chicago 16x7=112$ that paid for the whole trip saturday fuel, lunch, 10$ launch fee, "everything" actually with a few bucks to spare. ..wow seeing it in black white really helps me understand i made the right decision.....
thanks guys

Re: I quit

Hang in there DG13! Use that gum for the usual "I want to light up times" - after a meal, with coffee, etc.

The further you get away from the smokes, the less you'll get those little "attacks" that make you want to bum a smoke from someone. You'll also notice that you feel much better all of the time - not just when you are doing something physical.

The fact that you just "bought" yourself a $400 per month "boat kitty" doesn't hurt either! That's alot of money for gas and toys!

Hey Dog

Good job

Hang in and its going to work. If your sneak, you start from the bottom again.

No doubt, this challenge will be one of the toughest but it is worth it.

I felt like something was missing and I could not enjoy anything cause all I could do is withdrawl. It gets better. believe me. It will take 2 full years to stop the Jones.

Continue or you might die from it

Get ready for a hike to the summit, one foot in front of the other...keep moving and never give up.
