Let me introduce myself. My name is Vic and this is my first post. I want to remove the heat sensor on my 1990 88spl, but i think i screwed up. I accidently pulled off the wire and then tore up the rubber boot. what is the proper way to remove this so i can replace the sensor and the boot.

Thank you in advance.
vic
ps. i do have a service manual but it doesn't specify how to remove the sensors.

The water jacket cover on the head has to be taken off. The sensor goes in from the underside of that plate.

Thanks for the help. I cannot find the temp switch in the iboats.com marine store, is there any other good online johnson parts distributer?

Do a google search for Bombardier parts catalogs by looking for: epc.brp.com. All of their catalogs are online. You will find the Johnson/Evinrude part number you are looking for, as well as the picture that shows how it all goes together.

I dunno, are we allowed to say ishopmarine.com here? If not, then you didn't hear it from me. But shop iboats again and often.
