I'm looking at purchasing a 1999 Princecraft 180 SP with a 115hp Johnson...both bought new in 2000. The engine has approx. 800 hours as the person who previously owned it trolled Lake Ontario for Salmon/Trout etc. Approximately 90% of the hours were at trolling speeds of no more than 3.5 miles per hour......should this be of concern, or is it presumably fine since it was used at low speeds?.....it's at a marina that I know and trust and I saw it on the computer and everything checked out fine......my concern is that it will need a re-build? Anyone have any comments?....I'd appreciate it......the boat and motor esthetically are spotless!

Test run, compression check and warranty if you buy it. If the marina is that confident in it they will back you up with something. Insist on new thermostats and water pump as part of the deal and decarb it straight away. Unless they are selling it as an "as is" special and then it is a crap shoot.
