I have a 71 Crestliner Musky 15 with a 50hp Evinrude (71). The boat states it's rated for up to an 80 hp. Its time for a new motor and I'm concerned about the weight of a larger motor (70-75hp). Do I also have to be concerned about the transom and the torque of the newer motors?
Thanks.8)

Well the new 4 strokes have very little torque compared to the older 2 strokes. Not too worry.

I bought a new 50 hp Honda and the boat goes 32 mph. Whew! plenty fast for me. A 75 would have been dangerously fast.
