Hi guys, Is there a write up/thread about TACH installation and recommendations? My boat has ZERO instrumentation and I want to start for the basics.....
It all starts with what motor do you have? The tach has to be compatable or it either won't work, or won't work correctly. Again, depending on what engine, the wiring for a tach is generally already there.
If you have a 1970s OMC control there should be a grey wire inside of it for the tach. That is the pulse wire from the terminal block at the engine. Then you need a positive line from the ignition switch [purple] and a ground.
