I started having a cooling problem and replaced my waterp pump impeller. Problem persisted and the engine started to overheat. Took it in for service. Thermostat was replaced. Went to use it and no water was pumping. Back for service and a water tube was replaced in the midsection of the motor. Tested it with a hose and water was pumping nicely. Went to use it for the first time since the repair. Ran fine initially and then stalled a couple of times. Notice oil floating around the lower unit. Pulled the cover and found the oil to be tan. Looks like the water from the cooling system mixed with the oild. Also, oil seems to be dripping from the lower unit. My thought is that the repair was done incorectly yo allow this to happen. Would welcome some additional thoughts and perspective. Want to be prepared when I discuss with the mechanic. Also, am I totally hosed since I run it in salt water?
