I picked up a 17 pitch prop towards the end of the year. The shop says it is the correct one for my boat, but in order to get it to work I would have to grind a lot off of the trim tab to get it to clear. I am running a 1972 Mercruiser 120 hp with a Seloc outdrive. I have a 19 and a 21 pitch that clears just fine with the trim like it is. Did the guy sell me the wrong prop>?

that's what he said. It is a lot bigger prop and going down in pitch it should improve my hole shot. The boat will already get two out of the water on ski's, but I'd like a little more. How's the ark?

Re: question on trim tab modification.

Fred, Camp makes three different zinc trim tabs for the Alpha OD. If you want to use a prop with greater rake than the standard props, you need to use one of the alternative zinc trim tabs to allow the propeller to have proper clearance.

Alternatively you can grind your own, but since they are all the same price, I usually install the correct one.
