Well I pulled my boat this past weekend and the scum is unbelievable. I tried power washing, but there still is a brown stain left. I'm planning to sell the boat a 1981 Sting Ray 3.0 140, but I need to get it clean. Can anyone lend some advise as to how to get this stain off.

Product called On & Off. It's a pre-mixed acid solution, so glove up when using & rinse with plenty of fresh water. It'll clean it right up.

lots of oven cleaners have small amounts of muriatic acid in them and will work. use care as has been said, rinse well, rinse the trailer well too as you go. a soft brush or even better a scrunge pad on a long handle really helps.

I agree with the muriatic acid. Most hardward stores sell it by the gallon. I know Home Depot does as people use it for their Ph in swimming pools. My boat gets mineral deposits on the hull such as Lime. This stuff is amazing and will eat it right off. Be careful, its potent. Cut it with water. Use gloves and eye protection.

Well, Starbrite Hull Cleaner works well. It's primarily oxalic acid which is the ingredient in "Dekswood" deck cleaner sold at home centers. Dilute and read the label for safety precautions.

Any of these products will discolor a galvanized trailer so protect it (if you care).

Second the Starbrite, works as advertised. Protect all metal parts that could possibly come in contact with any acid.

i've used the muratic acid. cut about 1/3 acid, 2/3 water, mist on, use long handled stiff bristle brush. worked very well.....as for safety on this stuff, my addition would be not to breath the fumes either, you'll know it if ya do. a bandana worked well enough for me for protection while working outside........
