RPM at WOT

Friend of mine has a '84 Yamaha 225 pushing a 21' Falcon Stiper King. What should this motor be turning at WOT?

There was no 84 yamaha 225. All most all of the V-6 models perform best when propped to turn 5600-6000 RPM's.

I beg to differ Ray ... my neighbour have a 84 225hp yamaha, maybe they weren't available everywhere, but I know about lots of them here in South Africa ..... but you are right - 5600 - 6000 rpm

The first 225 imported here was an 87 model.
