Hi, I have just bought a 75hp 2-stroke Mercury. The age is approximately 1998 but the serial number sticker from the mounting bracket has gone. Is the serial number anywhere else on the engine, can't seem to find any core/welch plugs...please help
Looked at the powerhead but cannot see anything obvious. I presume I am going to have to remove something to get at the serial number...oil injection tank? starter motor? Anyone got any ideas???
On my 74 1150 straight 6, it is on the engine block just below the head on the right side. If you take off the cowling, you can probably find it stamped on the engine somewhere.
