however I lost a distant cousin a few years ago to a bill fish.
he was a mate on a boat out of oregon inlet. seems they got the fish to the boat and he reached down,grabbed the leader and took a wrap around his hand,according to witness's, last thing anyone on the boat saw was his boot bottoms heading down.
never recovered anything.
so yes fishing can be unpredictable at best and deadly at worst.
at least the guy survived and even has a good bar story .

Speared by a giant Marlin.. Thats how I wanna go....

No worries, Aspeck.... 8) I'm not that lucky..lol.. Probably could'nt get a marlin to come within a mile of my lure spread...

Saw a video of a guy in a stand-up harness fishing with heavy tackle (60-80lbs. class i'm guessing)... Leader got wrapped up on the tip while fighting something large, and the dude went in the drink.... Dunno the outcome...
