Welcome aboard Matt!

A place called Rapair makes replacement engine harness' but what I don't know is your engines' harness' part number or if Rapair makes them that far back. I will check tomorrow at the shop and see what I can come up with. A new harness would be much easier than jury rigging.

mattR, this is the way i look at it.. i like older things that run and operate correctly. (have a '71 mercury 1350 and a '55 15hp evinrude) there is nothing like sitting at the dock with an OLD KLUNKER, everyone around you is grinding away trying to start there monthly payment. when you turn the key and the klunker starts the first time and purrs like a kitten, people are amazed, just like classic cars. to me it's worth every skint knuckle.

i do agree that theres nothing like the old stuff but to keep it up so i can bass fish maybe easier to just change it out and update it im positive this old motor will run for years to come but im also looking to move up in to a 115 or 125 hp and to spend the money out to get this one perfect then change it just doesnt sit to well with my other half if you know what i mean

right now it is worth more if you parted it out than to sell as an as is motor. these parts are need out there.. this is just my opinion. i hate to see a running engine parted out.

geez to part this motor out would almost be a shame it runs so smooth purs like an old faithful cat on a cold night i would rather sell it or trade it out as a whole and know it was going to be used

Re: 1963 75hp evinrude

put it on ebay. be totally honest about how it runs, and what is wrong with it put a reserve price on it, but don't be outrageous. someone out there has one they are fixing, or combine the 2 engines and make a reliable one. i have bought 4 engines on ebay. and i have sold numerous parts i was going to throw away, just represent it properly and you will be surprized. also use paypal to get your money. i have also sold 2 project boats on ebay. bought them restored and resold.

might not be a bad idea what does ebay charge to set a reserve price?
