I have a 40 hp 2001 2 stroke, It idles fine but when i throtte it , after a few minutes of running maybe 5-10 on average it stalls. I have aready changed primer bulb. when i did this it ran for 2 hours no problem, Now that i put it back in it ran fpr 5 minutes and stalled like there was not enough gas getting there. If I manually choke the engine it also starves. Can someone help?

I once had a similar problem. It turned out to be a very small split in my fuel line. What made it more difficult to detect was that the split was on the side of the fuel line that faced the hull.

You're not very clear on when it stalls. Are you at speed when it stalls, or at idle? Watch the primer bulb when it begins to die. If its being sucked flat there is a restriction in the fuel system between the primer bulb and the pickup in the fuel tank. Tank vent open? Does the engine restart after stalling? When it dies does it sputter a little and then die or does it quit like you turned off the key. Give us some help.

OK - but does it sputter a few times and die, slowly reduce speed and die, or simply quit like you turned off the key?

[simply quits like i hit the kill switch, when i restart it it runs at low rpms if i hit the prime button on the key it runs at a higher rpm for a few seconds then back to bare minimum power. We ran it once for 5 hours no problem now that we put it back in it has this annoying prblom

good spark , not hot when it fails. it starts right back up and like i said it runs great at idle. 750-850 in gear low. just when i hit the throttle she bogs down and dies. If i try to squeeze the bulb its hard and wont push any gas. when i prime oqginally it pumps fine.

I thought I had a fuel problem, but mine wouldn;t even start. It turned out to be the switchbox. Did you use a inline spark tester when you tested for spark?

Ethanol based gas issues?
i have a brand new gas tank that had new gas put into it and after a month it now has water in the gas.
E10 gas pulls moisture from the air and puts it in the tank.
check for water in the gas.
