Sleekcraft boats?

Somebody is tempting me with a really good deal on a 1978 18' Sleekcraft with a jet drive and a BBF. I've never really heard anything about Sleekcraft before, and a search here finds almost nothing. Is there some reason almost nobody has one? Anybody have anything good or bad to say about them?

My neighbor has a sleekcraft. Not a bad looking boat. It's not a jet-drive though, that must be a retro-fit. Take it out for a spin and see how you like it. Sounds like fun.

I think Sleekcraft probably sold more than one type of drive. I see jet, i/o and outboard on ebay....though none like the boat I'm looking at.

The Sleekcraft that Z is talking about and the one in Florida are probably different. The Z one was probably built down here. They are now in Havasu and go by Sleek and Magic. There was a Trademark suit with the name Sleekcraft somewhere along the line which is somewhat of a famous case I understand.<br /><br />Anyway, there were a lot of them with 460s and jets on the Colorado in the 70s and 80s. They have a decent reputation and the 23s and 26s are targets for restorations, I am kinda always looking for one . . .<br /><br /> Sleek Magic <br /><br />

Can anyone give me a rough idea of what it would cost to reupholster an 18' jet boat? The interior is a little rougher than I would like...

I am gonna take a wild stab @ $800 if you pull the seats and deliver/pick-up and they don't have to rebuild any of the seats.

Not bad...considering Mercury wants over $417 for the rotor I just put on ebay.
