I took the battery to auto zone, and another place they said it was ok.It just had a tune up 3 monthes ago. When i try to start it,it sounds like classic under charged battery. The starter is not turning fast enough to start the engine.I saw no frayed or loose junk when i took the cover off.I hope to pick somebodys brain because i'm hopeing this is something vary simple. Thanks

Start with all connections to the battery, starter and starter relay are clean and tight. If contacts are tarnished use sand paper or a file and shine them up. Your starter is probably body grounded instead of wire grounded. Make sure the contact area on the starter is clean.

If that dont work take the starter apart and clean the crap out of it. Use WD40 and Qtips. Reassemble using fishing line to hold the magnets and springs in place. When the body is over the magnets cut the fishing line. Do not oil or greese any internal part of the starter. Only light weight oil on the bendix.

Yhea there is alot of paint inside of that thing. It looks pretty when you take the cover off.Maybe some of the paint is gunking up the connections.I'm somewhat pestamistic about connections problems ,but time will tell. Thanks for advise.

Usually it is carbon dust. Make sure the brushes look about the same and have a slight curve and arent pitted. You can lightly file or sand them if needed. The copper parts on the comutator should also be cleaned. Make sure that the cover goes back on the same way. I helped a friend with his merc and when we got it back on the motor the starter spun the wrong way. We put the cover back upside down and doing so we reversed north and south on the magnets.
