75hp 1995 Force runs hot at trolling/slow speed,therm seems ok and water is present at the p-hole,any theries?

Motor used in saltwater? Always fresh water flushed? When was water pump last serviced?

all salt water use, i always flush a good while and rinse, pump serviced last winter before storage, thanks for the response

I assume you motor has a tstat ... I would take it out and check opening temp. You will also be able to see whether you have salt buildup then as well. Do you have an engine temp gauge or just hot horn? How do you know it's running hot?

dont know what happened there . It only has the idiot horn, I will pull the therm and see whats going on there. Can I buy a temp gauge for this motor?

i would change the thurm and see if there was a pump kit but in or just the impeller good luck

Billy,<br /><br /> You can by a temp gauge and I recommend that you do. Takes alot of the guessing out of the picture. Most Force engines have a plug on top of the head right above the thermostat. If not do what I did. They make a "Z" bracket that mounts to a head bolt on one side and the sensor mounts into the other. The sensor makes contact with the head surface(make sure you remove paint where it touches head)then it reads the temp. Locate it near the top of head that is usally the hottest part. Very accurate and some good piece of mind. Good Luck :cool:
