Hi everyone, new forum member here so take it easy on me ! 
To make a long story short i am looking into purchasing my first powerboat boat tomorrow a 95 Stingray 556Zp with the 3.0 and Alpha 1. Its been a while since anyone in my family has had a powerboat we mostly fish on lakes which do not allow gas boats so its been electric and man power for years!
I am going for a test cruise tomorrow with the current owner. One thing i would love to check is the lower unit oil for any water. I don't want to spill the poor guys gear oil all over at the boat ramps, is there any way to get a good idea of the condition of the oil without yanking the drain plug ? I am not sure if this motor/drive combo is outfitted with the external drive fluid container or not. Even if this was in place I am not sure that moisture would be evident from there or not?
