righteous build of a super usable boat. the family should be proud to have someone that ingenious and frugal. you'll have a lot of good time in it. post some pics when you get it splashin

the only thing i'd consider adding is a tiller extension to prevent "tiller shoulder" after long weekends at lake.....i love my 12' but this gets to be an issue after 5+ hrs on the water

I love that boat, nice looking rig. I wish the Sea Scamp were a 14'.

Thanks for the compliments guys, it's a fun boat. I think it's going with us camping on Lake Leelanau in a couple weeks. Can't wait!

I think it would be sporting to suddenly decide to finish your big boat and take it on vacation.

Take the next few weeks off work and put the hammer down. I really think you should consider it.


We are heading to Long Lake by TC / Interlochen on Sat. Man is it ever beautiful up that way. A week on the water, can't wait.

Spent last week at Lake Leelanau Mi. We camp in a travel trailer, but friends of ours have a motor home and drive a car up also so they pulled up the 14'er for me.

Our campsite, thats the corner of our trailer.

Out for a ride, this is the "narrows":

Didn't fish out of it, but did take it out a lot for rides.

A few weeks prior to vacation, I got to ride/help with moving my Uncles 53' Hatteras from Pentwater to Grand Haven (Lake Michigan, about 60 miles). It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

It's been a good boating summer so far, great weather, hope my big one is done by spring.

Me neither. Definitely a dream boat. Takes around 3 gallons of diesel to go one mile when cruising at 15mph. It holds 1,000 gallons of fuel.

Re-power for the 14'er, going to double as a kicker on the big boat when it's done. 2002 Johnson 15hp 2-stroke. Absolutely Flawless! I bought off Craigslist from an old guy, original owner who only used it a couple times.

Bad news, my sweet 15hp. was stolen off my boat in the driveway last night. I was awaken by a knock on the door at 3am, a police officer. A neighbor had called @ 2:30am reporting a car in front of my house with lights off. They did get a partial plate number, but the cop didn't sound like he could do anything with a partial number. This really blows.....
