Looking for thoughts

Hi guys, I just picked up this 1975 Islander from an online auction for a single bid for about what I feel the trailer is worth.
My original thought was to put this trailer under my other Islander as it's a better fit than the Shorlander that's under it now,take the seats out as they are in great shape and install in my other boat and the cuddy cushions.
My issue now is that I've found a bunch of paperwork in the boat that says the marina installed a brand new Mercruiser 3.0 and Alpha 2 drive in 2008 and subsequently siezed the boat for non payment. Boat has been stored for 10 or 11 years.
I sorta believe all this as the bar code stickers are still on the lower unit and the hour meter shows three hours.
Not sure if I want to pillage this boat for its parts and scrap the rest or sell the boat that i have just about finished and restore this one. The fuel savings with the 4 cylinder and power steering and parts availibility are an attractive idea but not sure I have another full resto in me.My bride has pointed out a couple of times already that I don't need two boats the same.
What do you guys think I should do ?

Pics can be downsized in Paint. Load the pic into paint and then use the resize button. I settled on 20% size and it made the pics saved size small enough to post (~150-300 kb)

As for another project, Do IT!!!! Easy to say when I am not the one doing the work. lol

Space is about all I have right now.
Between running the business and building a new house plus all the grief this damn pandemic has caused I'm thinking about listing the new one for sale......or putting it in the shed until things settle down.
Thought you guys could offer some wisdom and help me figger this out.

Sorry Brother...I'd be just as conflicted if i were in your situation. Really tough call w/ that new power plant.

What's your other project, and is it worth swapping powerplants and attractive to do so?

My general philosophy is if I put in the effort to redo something, "it's a keeper" and subsequent projects would be complementary. I know others rebuild and sell, but I "play for keeps".

I guess what I'm saying is that if you're restoring another islander with a good powerplant already, what you really need is a third boat with space for that 3.0.

A 22'r with a 140 4 banger is about 100 HP under powered, that size boat needs at least a 4.3L V6.

Made me giggle Watermann. Lately my boating style is to head out under power about 2 miles and then putt putt all morning on the 9.9.
My stupid fast days are mostly behind me but my little 15.5 foot Starcraft, whatever model it is,has a 70 hp Merc on it which has been a bit much at wot. Plenty fast enough to be fun.
Maybe I'm just recently officially old.

Yeah I do lots of cruising sometimes up to 80 miles with a 30 MPH cruise speed other times just drifting with a short WOT burst every trip to clear out the cob webs. My concern with a big boat and small motor it can be a death sentence to the motor having to work so hard all the time to move the boat even if propped down. The plan for my 22' V5 Islander is a 200 - 225 OB as it's rated for up to 240.
