My goodman gas downdraft furnace is just 2 years old and already has a noisy draft inducer fan that stops turning. I think it must be the bearing in the motor.
there are three flashes. but i know its the fan because when i turn the little wheel on the fan motor it works for a while then seizes up and stops.
Emailed Alpine and hope they can help supposed to have a 5 year warranty.
Is it difficult to change this motor once i get it?

Re: Goodman noisy draft inducer fan assembly

Whole blower assembly is pretty easy to swap out, just replacing the motor and having to pull the fan wheel off the old motor can be a little more of a hassle.

Pretty common problem on most furnaces and on a low rent Goodman unit your gone be replacing stuff quite a bit. Everything used in those units is probably lowest bidder piece parts.

ohh so easy lol just 4 screws
I called alpine in usa where i got my furnace
they are excellent to deal with and are sending out a new part
Just have to pay shipping around $47

I read that most furnaces are made with generic parts.

probably a chinese made part  if it was american made it would last for 50 years :D
