Dell BIOS update

I have a Dell Inspiron 3847 and just got a notification of a BIOS update Googled it and didn't really find out very much other than what I already knew - updating a BIOS can be scary business. As in, Nothing. Dare. Go. Wrong. Just wondering if anyone here received the same notification or has any experience with BIOS updates.

have not received notification for a quite a while, but just go to the dell support website, enter your service tag number and then look under bios updates, and follow the instructions exactly as they say, don't take long at all.

Dell BIOS updates are a piece of cake. Do as MT said.

Not sure if it is the same update but just got one on mine yesterday. 99.99% of the time they are a piece of cake. I have done several dozen BIOS updates in my time
