2020 Nascar - Kentucky - With Jimmie Johnson. All-Star Race Too.

Jimmie Johnson will be back in the #48 after a short COVID quarantine after meeting Nascars COVID procedure. A false positive test? It was expected he would be out through the All-Star race.

This is another week of odd scheduling at Kentucky. All three series race with X-Men racing today (Thursday) and Friday. Saturday has an ARCA and Truck race with the Cup race on Sunday. We have a chance of T-storms through Sunday. :blue: All the racing will be on FS1 and here is the race schedule from MRN;

News and Notes

• Nascar has released a schedule for the remainder of the regular season with more doubleheaders. No idea how firm it is because COVID keeps interfering. I'm taking it week to week.
• We lost the Sonoma road race and now we lost Watkins Glen when New York State didn't lift restrictions. The Glen is replaced with a road course race at Daytona for all series.
• Still no practices or qualifying for the foreseeable future.
• Fans in attendance at races? This is also one of the iffys. I thought Indy was going to have fans, the state killed that idea, so the stands were empty.
• The All-Star Fan Vote is open through 12PM on 7/14. Go make your vote count.
• TV ratings - The Brickyard got a 2.67 rating and 4.34 million viewers. Last year's Brickyard 400 got a 1.9 rating and 2.97 million viewers, though that race aired in September and was up against the NFL.

Darn Thursday races. Forgot about X-Men racing tonight.

I remembered the X-Race.

When I tuned in, the question was will they finish the 1st lap with out a wreck. And they didn't! A car whacked the wall, but no caution, but on lap 3, a better whack with a yellow.

Gragson won the first heat and Cindric won the second. Cindric is trying for back to back wins after winning last night.

Cindric wins tonight. First consecutive wins in two days in same series since The King did it in 1971.

Nascar social distancing policy has to be reviewed to see if punches count. After the race a high school altercation broke out, a pretty good one one in the dark garage area. Burton and Gragson.

At the Truck race on FS1. No sooner than they started, a truck spewed fluid on the track bringing out the first yellow.

Zane Smith wins the 1st heat. Rain appears to be closing as the 2nd heat starts. Official race at end of heat #2 or lap 75, whichever occurs first when race is halted.

iFL keeps changing the roster lock times because Nascar keeps changing the race green flag time. Now it's 2:45 and is on FS1.

Truex and Kenseth will be starting at the back after failing pre-race inspection twice. The rest stay in the original spots. Truex will be scored from 9th and Kenseth from 17th.
