Coming from Kansas this weekend, the 2nd playoff elimination race. The playoff standings as we come to Kansas;



Keso, Blaney, Larson and Bowman will be dropping out on Sunday unless one of them wins or something drastic happens to one or more of the 8 drivers ahead of them. I won't recite the boring elimination scenarios. Here is the MRN schedule;

News and Notes

• Talladega penalties - The big one is the L1 given to Larson for using metal tabs for body crash repair resulting in losing 10 points he can't afford to lose. Almirola had a loose lugnut and three Truck teams were hit for L1's for something to do with interior air flow.
• Premium Motorsports will shutter their Truck team after the Martinsville race to concentrate on their Cup team.
• TV ratings - a 2.2 on NBC. Last year was 2.8. Oooops!

Larson lost his appeal over the L1 penalty.

More bad news - He wrecked his primary car during practice, so he will start at the back no matter where he qualifies.

Non-playoff drivers in the top 10 qualifiers are Jones, knocked out of the playoffs is starting 6th along with ex-playoffer Hamlin in 9th.

Cup has two more practice sessions tomorrow and iFL race rosters lock at 2:32PM ET on Sunday.
