I had the same dryrot issue but fixed it before i even got it on water by using some leftover rv black rubbery tar that comes on paper backing its nice and sticky and water proof its used to seal rv roof seams.
My switchbox never arrived but ended up fixing it by scraping a ton of potting compound to get to the board it cost me 3 hours of scraping and $6 in parts
