A year a go I started having problems with my pwc due to it starting up
And the shutting off about 40-400 yards down or up river. I took it home and sent it to get serviced
By a professional because I was at my wits end with it.
He called me the next day and told me the carburators needed to be cleaned out
and etc. After the mechanic finished I took it back out to the
Water to see if it worked. It ran for about 2 hours perfectly until the problem
Persisted again. I took it back to him to have him see what is causing
the problem this time. He now says it is the CDI box is worn out and fried.
I was wondering if anyone out there has had these problems and that this could
Be the problem before I spend 800 dollars on a new CDI box.
Thanks guys for the help,

Try a reman or used CDI first, or borrow one from a similiar ski. Or find a new mechanic....

Make sure the oiler is providing enough oil for mixture. If it is the slightest bit lean, it will shut your motor down. Happened to me several times in one afternoon. Each time I managed to fire it back up, it would run about a while then do it again. Come to find out, I was doing damage to my cylinders/cylinder walls each time I ran it after the first time I had the problem. Then found after rebuilding my motor, that the oiler was set a little lean. NOW I run it a little rich and keep extra spark plugs with me for when they foul. Cheaper to replace plugs than have a rebui;d on a motor :D
