Hello Everyone,
I have been searching this forum and the internet to try and find which propeller came with my 1996 Wellcraft 21 SL. There is a huge amount of information on propeller selection and possible options. Who knew I would open such a large can of worms. Ultimately, I just want to know what the boat originally came with. I would be grateful for any information that could be sent my way.

Here are the details:
1996 Wellcraft Excel
4.3 GS Volvo Penta (190 hp)
SX Crobra leg

Thanks in advance.
Cheers Ray

There is a new site:: Club Wellcraft Forums perhaps you can find the information there.
If you do find the info there let us know for future reference.
While your boat may have come with a specific base prop the actual selected prop could be completely different
based on typical load and activities.Your boat may do best with a prop selected for your specific needs.
If you get us the info requested in the stickys at the top of the prop forum;the guys here can help with a prop for your specific needs.

The Mercury prop selector(it has Volo programs too) says a choice of 15 X 17 or 15.5 X 18 in 3 blade aluminum if selecting the "good overall performance" category.

This is based on 3000 lb dry weight plus 500 lb of people/gear and 35 gal of gas; giving a calculated weight of 3699 lb. The selector uses a 1.66 ratio with the 4.3GL(190).

Since Volvo only offers the 15 X 17 size, that seems the reasonable choice for a "standard" prop if using their props.

Mercury offers the two sizes mentioned.
