I have 2008 4winns H190 with a volvo penta I/O 4.3. Rpm goes about 4000 at no wake speed. Then it goes wayy over 6000 at planing speed around 25 mph? Max rpm indicator is 6000. Any suggestion?
Sounds like the tachometer is not set correctly for a 6 cylinder 4stroke engine using the coil as the signal. Is this boat new to to you? Just curious about the most recent history.
Agreed, your tach isn't set correctly. Also as an FYI, the max rpm on that engine is 4800. It might be ok up to around 5500, much higher and pieces will be finding their way outside the engine.
