I am looking to replace my 85 Wellcraft 192 American's two windshield support bars. They are 8" and the smallest I have found online or anywhere so far is 11". I tried these and they put too much stress on my windshield. Anyone have any help on where I might be able to purchase 8" support bars? Taylor Made's 2004 catalog and web site do not even list 8" bars.

Wow, you are right -- they don't sell them anywhere on the internet do they?! Googling it only produces results of 11" or greater. Have you tried contacting Wellcraft directly? Perhaps they can help you out.

Sean

Re: Windshield Support Bars

How do they connect to the windshield/ dash? Is it just 1 piece of metal or is it a metal tube that fits into plastic retainer thingys that are screwed into the windshield and dash?

I had a similar problem finding a replacement for my '89 seaswirl years ago. Mine is the type with tubes that fit into plastic retainers screwed into the boat. I just cut down the tube to fit.

If yours is just 1 piece metal, perhaps you could adapt the kind with the tube/ plastic connectors to fit your boat (the connectors swivel to adapt to different angles.)
