    im trying to figure out what kind of boat i have, i know its a 16 foot flat bottom shell lake, thats it.

          I can't tell you the model but Shell Lake boats were made in Shell Lake, Wisconsin. Back in the 50"s nearly every resort in the upper midwest used Shell Lake lap strake construction boats. Quite, nice riding, dry boats if they were taken care of. I duck hunted from them for years. The Tri-hull design of your boat was common in the 60's & 70's. Hi Ryder was a similar Wisconsin built boat and I had one of those too.
