I just picked up a McKee craft with a Johnson motor, OMC controls, its has a new ignition switch, someone had tied the lanyard around the control. I was trying to get the lanyard off and I pull the horseshoe clip off the switch. now I cant get it back on. any help.

:welcome: aboard 99sirforce...

With out a picture it is hard to say which type "kill switch" you are working with. I am assuming from your description that you have to pull the section out enough to clip the horseshoe clip back on. I attached a picture of just one type. But there are lots of types that were used. Without the actual year of your OMC control or engine/boat, this is the best I can do. Maybe others can offer a more in depth answer. Post a picture of it and I am certain we can answer it then. JMHO.

Iboats IS an online retailer

You are likely trying to post a link to a competitors site, forum filter redacted it.

Generally, you have to pull the button out a little as you clip the lanyard on.

It seems they are intentionally a little annoying to clip.

That "C" clip I suppose goes in behind the key cylinder section. And I would expect you have to use the key to assist pulling out the center section to install the C clip. So try that and see how that works. Basically that is how most "Kill Switches" work. JMHO!
