The guy I bought the motor from said they had disconnected the system, but digging in I pulled the tank to see how they went about bypassing the mechinical pump.
I found the system still in tack. No plugs or caps, what the heck?
all 3 carbs still had the lines attached, etc.
However, I pulled apart the check valve and it was so filled with sludge I don't see how oil could pass through the screen.
The oil in the tank looked like 50 weight too, goodness, no wonder this guy couldn't figure out that the only reason the motor wouldn't fire was because of a blown fuse.....
I do have a question tho, and hope someone can help me.
I found this wire, and I thought they might have just bent it to break the connection to the oiler, thinking that would render it out of use, but I can't find anywhere it might attach....????
I wonder if its a connection for optional equipment?
Does this wire look like a factory crimp, or more like a idiots fix?
It is metal and filled with what looks like epoxy.

Thank you.....

The other end where I disconnected it from the plug:
