Just received a new yamaha rectifier/regulator p/n 67F-81960-12-00 thru the local yamaha dealer. He said this was the replacement p/n number for the one that burned up on my engine. That p/n was 67F-81960-10-00.
The problem I have is that the burned up part had 3 green wires connected to a plug that goes to the charging coil plug, a black that goes to engine ground, a red that goes to battery, and a green/white that plugs into a matching wire color. The new part does not have this green/white wire.
Also, the new part heat sink is larger, but the mounting holes are located to match the old part.
What is the green/white wire for?
Did I get the correct replacement part?
