Yamaha 30 2 stroke 3 cylinder

Just got this and maybe it is a lemon as it won't start! Charged and cleaned battery, starter terminals and ground and checked that fuse on the back of the cylinder that has the spare on the other end. And ideas of what else I need to do. What is an easy way to check starter itself?

Hi.

Do you know what year the motor is? There should be a little plaque on it somewhere that tells you the serial number.

Also, is it a pull-start? I thought all 2-stroke 30's were pull-start, but maybe I'm unaware of one that has a starter motor.

No my 92 30hp 2 stroke has both pull start and electric start
