compression test on LF200XCA yamaha 200. is this right?

Buying a 2016 with twin 200's . Ran compression and all cylinders and engines came in around 260. Seems high. no?

is your gauge defective?

a big block Chevrolet will be between 150 and 165psi. most outboards are about 120

Don’t know these engines well...but I’d think it would be nothing like that High. Only a few marine engines (petrol ones) I know of, that are anything like 200 or over.
Mayne try another gauge.
