The boat was re powered with the 4 stroke, it was existing on the center console, maybe I do not need it??Is there no oil pressure gauge on 4 strokes?

2 stokes had oil level , so that is why I was asking what gauge you have.
did it have a 4 stroke on it before?

you can rig up all sorts of things if you want to

No, it had a Mercury 2 stroke I believe. Do the 4 strokes not have a oil pressure, oil level gauge? I know they have an oil pump that goes bad from time to time, and that if the oil goes down to a specific lower level, it will shut the engine down, as most engines will. But I am curious if the gauge should work or not. I am thinking about putting a new gas "sending unit " for a more accurate gauge of fuel useage, I would use the same hole on the console, it I do not need the oil gauge

We have twin 115hp Mercury four stroke EFI no oil pressure and never heard of it on a four stroke.
Maybe on an I/O.
You need to pull the dipstick to check the 100% synthetic stock marine engine oil
A accurate gas gauge and fuel useage sounds like a good thing.
