Bought me a boat with a DT75....late 80's model
The boat and motor sat up for about 8 months. When I went to start it would not fire up without a spray of starter fluid from the seller. Once it was running it was fine until around 4k rpms and it would start losing power. The more I ran the motor the better it seemed to get.
Being a complete novice when it comes to outboards and mechanics should I start with the carbs? I don't know when they were cleaned last. I know I can do it but it may take a little extra time.
