Yamaha motors are much easier to look up by the Model Number, rather than serial number. What is the complete Model number on your motor? The last letter of model number stands for the year. For example, "R" stands for 1993 made motors. However, I don't believe the 90 TLR is the complete model of your motor. To me, "90 TLR" indicates that it is a 90 hp (the 90), has power trim and tilt (the "T"), is a 20" shaft (the "L"), and has a remote instead of handle for controls (the "R"). For clarification, in 1993, Yamaha made the 90 TLRR (R=1993), in 1994 they made the 90TLRS (S=1994), and in 1995 they made the 90 TLRT (T=1995). That is why I do not think that 90 TLR is the complete model number. Here is a site that can help you identify the year by your model number-- http://www.maxrules.com/fixyamahamodels.html. Let me know if this helps, and re-post if you have a complete model number.
