Volvo Gimble bearing replacement

My Four Winns with Volvo 5.0L/SX drive is developing a bad vibration while turning. The dealers tell me it' either the Gimble Bearing or the u-joing drive. I Bought the boat new in 2002. Should I be having gimble problems aready?<br />Can I replace it myself? Do I need a hoist?

has it had annual maintance ?<br /><br />like pulling the drive and greaseing the gimble and u-joints ?<br /><br />if the bellows has a leak it will also dammage the parts very fast<br /><br />tommays

also was the shaft alignment checked at the 20 hour service and has it been checked annually as per the maint schedule?
