Volvo DPH outdrive - how do I bleed air from system?

Have a pair of new DPH drives. Been experiencing noise/vibration. Put boat on grid today and discovered that I can manually grab the outdrives and move them about 20 degrees. The hydraulic pistons move.

I'm guessing air in the system. Lots of it.

So how do I bleed it out? There's a steering system manifold that I assume is the place I'd do it. Anyone give me guidance on the procedure?

Many thanks.

BTW - I'm talking about the steering system, not the trim/tilt system.

Ayuh,... You'll have to Identify the Steering System you've got,... They're Not all the same...
And,....
This isn't an I/O- motor question either...
It probably belongs in the General Boat forum...

It's a stock Volvo steering system that comes with their outdrive system. Looks suspiciously like a Seastar but with a Volvo nameplate. Since it's part of the outdrive system this seems to be the place to post it, but whatever.

With a DPH, he did identify the steering, it's part of the overall power package, not an add on like a gas engine. The DPH drives are used on D4 and D6 diesels. Great motors

You will need a filling and purging tank. I would upload a manual for you, but I locked myself out for a while.
Anyway, you might be able to blow these pictures up and read what it takes.
