Thanks. To test I removed the sender and closed its fitting with a 1/8 npt plug.

Filled with another 5qt of oil and got a good reading on dipstick. Let it sit for about an hour with camera under pan and viewing most of engine, no drips seen at all, level didn't change. Doesn't seem to be the pan.

Then ran around 5 minutes at 3000rpm, oil down to nothing again on dipstick and port side soaked. Unfortunately didn't see it happen but the sender fitting was plugged, maybe its the part threaded into the block?

I couldn't find a picture of the VP part but this seems to be the same one from a 7.4 Mercruiser.

Think this can be done similar with npt brass fittings from the hardware store. 1/8 npt is right for the sender hole, probably also for the low pressure sensor? But what is the size screwed into the block? It does look bigger than 1/8.
What else is likely to lose so much oil only when engine running?
