Hello,

I have a 2002 Larson SEI with a Volvo Penta 3.0 GS, and a SX-M outdrive.

Numbers on the outdrive are as follows:

3868895
SX-M 1.97
4202039691

I am going about servicing the outdrive.

I am going to replace both bellows, inspect the gimbal bearing (it looks good, no play and no resistance so I am going to leave it) replace drive shaft seals (2 o-rings), and replace my trim sender.

Here is my question, I have the outdrive separated from the gimbal housing, and I am now looking at the two u-joints, and would like to replace the "spiders" while I am in there.

I have the spiders that have the outside keepers (c-clips on the outside). From what I have been reading, I am confused. Some people say you can just replace the spiders with spiders that have keepers on the outside. Other posts say you cannot do that, and must replace the whole driveshaft? Can anyone clear this up for me? And if I can just change the spiders, are these the correct ones to order? QTY=2

Also, based off of what I have researched, these are the parts I am going to buy for my service. Do these seem correct?
