Big vacuum leak?

The housing ends look like considerable wear on it. The black goo was the isolator on the end of the pump anti spin bracket. I have replace it with a good piece of hose before works out fine.

There I pulled the raw water pump , appears pressed onto the 2 groove pulley for hydraulic steering and alternator.
Looks like a good knock with a punch would remove. Can I rebuilt this pump myself?

I saw the pumps very expensive , - ok to post links? Was looking for the TOS for the forum ,
I didn't find the part # on the pump yet, does this look like the basic rebuild kit I am looking for, the boat runs the 5.0 GL

Before you order the rebuild kit. Disassemble your pump and inspect the shaft where the seal rides. I'm guessing it's grooved and you need a new pump.

Muc - good thinking thanks . Didn't think of that ,will take apart and look for groove.
