Ok now im working on the Gale. FR's favorite...LOL.. I have the manual but I have no idea what all these contraptions are connecting to the carb and the flywheel. You twist the throttle and it moves. What the heck does it do? Im scared to take the carb and flywheel off not knowing. An arm moves up and down and it puzzles me.

Flywheel locking mechanism to prevent starting the motor at too high a throttle setting.

To get the recoil starter off, simply remove the pivot screw from the locking arm and unhook & remove the spring. Swing the locking arm out of the groove and go ahead with whatever you are aiming for.

Thanks a bunch gentlemen. Gonna check coils, points etc and rebuild the carb. Thats a neat little contraption. This is how I learn...LOL
