Boat sat all season winterized with the stern drive unit down with no problem. Out of storage a few days later, stern drive up, it started leaking gear oil from behind the prop. Oil is not milky so I'm assuming no water in the housing. I obviously haven't hit anything so guessing a prop shaft seal just went bad.
Assuming there are no damaged parts, what seals and/or o-rings will I need to fix this? I do have a shop manual. Thanks in advance.

It makes no sense.----Who winterized it ?----Did they fog the motor with lots of oil ?----Pressure test the gearcase I say.

I have never had a problem pulling the carrier out of a OMC unlike a Mercruiser which usually needs heat. Drain the oil. A 3/8” socket with an extension will remove the 4 bolts. A slide hammer will pull the unit out. 4 small “O” rings, 1 large and 2 seals is all you need. Throughly clean all sealing surfaces. Some sealer for the seals and “O” rings. Needless to say you do not need to pull the drive to do this job.
