I bought a 2002 Sea Ray 176 with the 3.0 Mercruiser and the engine is bad. I have found a 3.0 lx engine and am wondering if this would be an easy swap or what would need to be done to make it happen?

wishing you all the best..but maybe just curious as to what is bad with the current 3.0. As it happens I’m almost certain the 3.0 lx will be a direct replacement for you. Only slight “get out of jail card” for me...would be if for some reason the replacement 3.0 was for some reason butchered to fit a different application. But surely you would get round this using your current drive train set up. Should be fine
