I'm looking to replace the fuel/water separator and I don't want to buy the wrong filter. Could you all point me in the right direction on which filter to buy. IMG_1017.jpg

I couldn't find much on the canister to find cross ref. product.

Also I am having trouble finding a inline filter that is right before the carb.

Uhhhhhhh, it's a Yamaha filter, not Mercruiser. Find the proper Yamaha filter or cross reference the Yamaha number to the correct filter.

What's it go on?

Sorry left this info out. 1997 Mericruiser 3.0LX

Since Mercruiser didn't have water separating fuel filters on the 3.0L engine, you just need to find a replacement for your Yamaha filter number. It's not readable in your picture.

IMG_1016.jpg Maybe better.

Well thats the thing i did not see any ref. number to cross ref. with. I found this online. Looks just like my filter.

Description: Yamaha OEM Fuel Water Separator Filter.
Part #: MAR-FUELF-IL-TR

•Meets or exceeds all US Coast Guard and American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) requirements for marine applications
•True 10-micron filtration - highly recommended for all two-stroke and four-stroke EFI outboards and two stroke HPDI's (also excellent for carbureted engines)
•High-performance 90 GPH flow rate and extra-large filtering surface

Is there a place that sales them besides ebay. Or maybe a cross ref. brand

Re: Which fuel/water filter is this.

Just read the part number on your filter, does it say MAR-FUELF-IL-TR if it does, then the Sierra PN is 18-7866. You might find it at your local NAPA auto parts.
I looked here at iboats and they don't seem to have it.

PS: Sierra actually makes the filters for Yamaha. Learned that from working at a Yamaha OB dealership.
