I noticed the other day that there is a hose with a strange connection lying on the bottom of the outboard engine (2001 Mercury 115HP Salt Water Series):
Tracing the hose back (it's long) and connects to the brass fittings at the top of the motor:
I assume therefore it connects into the cooling system and is perhaps for flushing out? I have been using a set of 'bunny ears' on the motor for years. Am I doing something wrong? What's it for?
