Mariner Ignition Problem after Cable Replacement

I have a 1984 90hp Mercury Mariner 6cyl outboard that is now only sparking on cylinder #2. It ran fine until I replaced the throttle, shift, and steering cables. I also oiled the remote control box. I have tried disconnecting the kill switch at the remote and removing the yellow/black cables at the engine. No change. I have disconnected the wiring harness at the engine to rule out the remote control. No change. Before I get too deep into this, is there something obvious I'm missing? It ran fine before I messed with the throttle and steering cables, so surely I messed something up in the wiring?

Thanks for any help.
