Hey all,
I have a 1979 Mercury 110 9.8 hp outboard. The engine runs great, but the carbs and/or fuel cell seem to get clogged up with gunk quite a bit. I know this because if I leave it sitting for more than a week at a time w/o running, the engine won't start and if I take the engine cover off I can see gas squirt out near the fuel filter if I pump the bulb on fuel line. What is the easiest way to take out carbs and fuel cell for cleaning? What sort of cleaning agent should be used? Don't feel like wasting another $100 at a marine....
Thanks, any help is much appreciated.
