Hey all--

I'm fairly new to Mercury, but rest assured I have spent HOURS scouring forums and the net trying before resorting to posting here. I am unable to find a serial number anywhere, I have looked on the powerhead and on the swivel clamp as well. I've also tried to go the route of casting numbers, and it leads me in so many different directions, I think it's a lost cause. I will post pics here!! If I dont get any luck here, my next step is to take it to a Mercury dealer, and I really dont want to do that, so thanks in advance for any help!!

FYI, what I'm looking for is needed information to purchase parts, such as fuel pump parts, kill button, shift lever and wiring harness (if available).

Yup, looks 1969 ish. You can find serial number ranges for those years and go from there to do your parts lookup, etc.

Based on the Decals, 1969

Best looking Decal Mercury ever had

1969 or 1970 because of the three openings in the front .Choke, fuel, and kill button. I have a 1970 and do not use the kill button as others have said it can kill the stator. I stop mine with the choke .

Decals definitely say 1969.

The deciding clue is the decal that says "Lightning Ignition"...'68 didn't have it and '70 said "Thunderbolt Ignition".
